My Sweetest Hannah

I just adore my Hannah! She is so caring and loving. Lately she has been asking me to tell her "my favorites". I tuck her in bed and before my feet can reach the door she will say "Mommy what is your favorite _________?" She has asked me what my favorite baby animal is, my favorite flower, my favorite color and assorted others too. They are all random things she wants to know about me. How special is that?? I'm not sure what she is doing with all her information but that she even cares enough to ask about simple little things that get so lost when you're a busy mommy. I know that she is growing up but she is still my little "Bee" and I love her!

Chow Time

Here is what we had for dinner tonight. This is for all the ladies who don't use your crockpot. I have 1 suggestion.... Get it out!! I promise life for a moment will be easier.

Vegetable Beef & Barley Stew

3/4 cup chopped onion

1 can of cut green beans

2/3 cup of uncooked barley

2/3 cup frozen corn

1 1/2 cups of water

1tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. dried thyme

1/4 stp. pepper

1 1/2 pounds of beef stew cut into smaller pieces

2 cans of beef broth

1 can of diced tomatoes with roasted garlic

3 fresh carrots cut into slices

1 8oz. can of tomato sauce

Put it in your crockpot, stir it and put it on the low setting for 8 or so hours.

Does anyone see a resemblance??

I'm not sure this was the look Gramma aka "Papa" was going for with her "free haircut"!

p.s. We LOVE you Stephanie, but how could we resist???????

Skittles & Poop

Yes that is right, Poop and Skittles!

Shad has succesfully pooped on the toilet without pooping in his diaper first and then taking it off to sit on the potty. He has been delightfully rewarded with a Skittle. Now we just need to work on the pee part if this training. He has it backwards but you know he will get it eventually, just like his "indoor voice". But for now we will settle for Poop and Skittles!

Two of My Worlds Collided!

Yes, 2 of my worlds! My Teenager and Two year old.
Shad likes Sesame Street and Scott loves the original song.
It's too cute not to share. I hope you enjoy!

A Beaming Mother

How can you not beam when your child's teacher says, "He is a wonderful boy, he is a model student."
GASP!!! Of course I well up with pride, saying to myself "huh, would you expect anything less."
But the truth of the matter is he looks good on the outside but let's examine his heart!
I love my little Elijah and I am very proud of him that he doesn't struggle to sit still or be diligent in class that he tries his hardest and is a really good student. But God has given him those strengths, not me. But God has also chosen to give him great weakness' too. He needs to have a heart transplant. My prayer for him is that he will choose to LOVE above all else. It is very hard to love your annoying sister, your too rough big brother and your very loud and disruptive destructive little brother, your Mom who has to ask you to repeat yourself because she has some hearing loss from that 2 year old and your Dad who tells you "no" or catches you asking your Mom for something you were already told no for and getting into trouble. Yeah he's a "model student" but his heart is what God sees and we must train him up to fear God and not man, to care only about what God cares about and not what man cares about.
I love you endlessly Elijah and I am very proud of you!

Dragging me down

Have you ever felt that something was dragging you down?

Well I got rid of mine!

Eventhough my hair was dragging me down, I am blessed to know that it will bless someone else,

I will donate my hair to "Locks of Love".
