This morning Shad calls me into the bathroom to wipe his bottom after using the potty. Here's how the conversation went down.
Shad: Mommy I'm done!
Me: Okay did you go poop?
Shad: Yes, look I made letters.
Me: What?
Shad: Look I made the letter C.
Me: Why yes you did!
Who needs a picture book of letters???
I LOVE being a Mommy to kids who make me crack up over yucky stuff!!!

Our Elijah

Our Elijah is a bit of a cranky kid when it comes to sleeping (only to name one). The kid LOVES to sleep! So every morning when he has to wake at 6:30 it's a bit of a task, to say the least, to wake up with a cheerful heart. One evening when Jason told Elijah it was "bedtime" he grumbled, "but I'm not tired." Jason then told Elijah to get him a scratch piece of paper, which Elijah did. Jason began to write down,
"I will not be cranky when I get up in the morning"
signed, Elijah Schmitt
He then explained that when Elijah signed the paper the next morning he would show him the agreement of not being cranky.
Now Jason grew up in a home where signing your name actually meant something so he told Elijah to sign it. Elijah grabbed the paper and tore it up and threw it away. You see Elijah is a business man and he will not be tricked into signing his name into anything. ;) Here are some photo's of the next morning of happiness and another one of 'normal' life.
More funnies....
Elijah has a bit of a lazy bone. When he was younger maybe like 4 years old he said "Man I wish I was a guy in wheelchair so I didn't have to walk." You pretty much can imagine how I freaked out about that one. But then yesterday we went to the Zoo and as he was walking along with me and said "Oh' I sure wish Dad was here with one of those carts" I then said "you mean a stroller?" He said "No, you know the thing that goes on your back!" I can only giggle about that.
Just imagine a 7 year old boy in a backpack on his Dads back. O' dear!!!
Yet another...
After our trip throughout the Zoo I took the kids into the gift shop and Elijah scoured the place to find the perfect prize. He found a Komodo Dragon toy which he was quite thrilled with. After we left the store he leans over to me and says "Now did you use MY money for this?"
My 7 year old really watches HIS pennies and doesn't spend it wildly, but when it's Mom or Dads bucks he doesn't pay to much attention.
Last one...
Okay so in the back of the van Elijah was talking outloud to himself and said...."This is what I going to do, I'm going to get rich ,buy all the nice stuff and then I'm going to get married! Yup, that's just how I am going to work it out!"
That's our funny little Elijah. We just love him so much eventhough he gets sooo cranky in the morning and is sooo particular with his socks and shoes. He really cracks us up and we treasure all the funny things he says and does.

Soooooo PROUD!!

Scott ran the 1500 meter in 5 minutes and the 800 meter in 2:20. We are so proud of him. But ultimately remembering who made Scott and gave him the gift and ability to do such things.
Thank you God for our son Scott and your Son Christ!

Picking your brain
So I heard a song this morning while driving in the van and it sparked me to think about how I trust in the Lord, how I delight in the Lord and how I committ my way to the Lord. All of it in reference to Psalm 37:3-5. Hopefully it will spark your thinking brain. I would love to know how you do these things as well. You can comment here, you can e-mail me or you can send me a message on Facebook. I hope to here from you.
Just so you know the rose is a double delight rose. :)
Psalm 37:3-5 (New International Version)
3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:
